Born in NYC, Yuji Oniki grew up in the U.S. and spent
He has recorded with members of various indie-rock bands, including Guided By Voices, The Shins, Game Theory, and Beulah. He has also collaborated with musicians in Japan, including Yuji Katsui (Rovo), Akino Arai, Shôko Suzuki, and Tomoyo Harada.

Known for his ethereal sounding songs, Oniki’s music evokes the nostalgia of places and people gone while weaving landscapes of “yearning” out of the ever-shifting pull between the past, present, and future.
His releases include Shonen Blue, Orange, Tvi, Woodstock, Tokyo and Sister Worlds.
In 2024, Separate Peace was released by Pure Heart Records. Yuji Oniki now resides in Kyoto, Japan.
